Well, since a lot of people complained about it, I’m releasing an update with a revamped “output format” system, where you can modify how your files will be saved after the download (now you can choose exactly the name files, how folders will be created, etc…). You have just to follow the guidelines from SpotDL (there’s a button to show them in the dialog in Settings > Downloader > Output format). I hope you like this change.
I highly recommend going and check the settings since the last version default values may have interfered with the new system
If there is no more core functions that are buggy, this now will be truly the last version before the remake. Thank you all!

Hi guys! First of all so sorry for the delay and the lack of updates… My life has been quite busy these months, and I’ve also been involved in many other projects that helped to grow as developer (as well as the entrance to the Computer Engineering degree), but well, that doesn’t really matter right now, A NEW UPDATE OF SPOWLO IS HERE!
This is the last version of Spowlo 1.x.x since I’m working on a remake (as I already told some time ago), but the thing is that the remake that I was working on didn’t reached my expectatives and the code base wasn’t good, that’s why I have been working on a solid codebase for a new remake (yes, a remake of the remake), and since I have fixed all the core bugs, I just need to port the old code to it.
This new version adds a lot of options that you can check in the link of the “What’s changed” head, as well as a lot of improvements and fixes to the downloader. Some options may not work, but the most are SpotDL problems. Anyways, you deserved this. Thanks so much for the support and positive energy that you give me all days in the Telegram channel (where you can get some sneek peeks) and more.

Since the last update broke the app for all Android 14 devices, I was forced to launch this hotfix.
What has been fixed
- The app doesn’t crash anymore for Android 14 users
- Added a notification for when the app crashes because of a bad database migration

Hello to you all guys! First of all thanks for using Spowlo.
Developing this app is not easy (and even more the 1.x.x that has a lot of spaguetti code) because of the technical difficulties that implies using Python behind the app for running spotDL.
These days I’m talking in the Telegram channel about the future of the app, and I’m really sad since I don’t have a clear one. I’m considering creating an evolution of Spowlo (a new app!) with all my most recent knowledgement, making as stable as possible.
Since SpotDL downloads from YT Music, my non-developer right hand in this project, Wolf, and the community in the Telegram channel gave me an idea that I think would be nice, and it’s to create a YT Music client with the downloader option embedding Spotify metadata. I will open a discuss for this release; I want to hear what you all think.
